Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to the most common questions about our tours, booking process, and visiting New York City.

What makes Highly Rated Tours different?

Highly Rated Tours is committed to a more personal sightseeing experience. We limit public tour
departures to a maximum of 20 guests, so you can hear your guide easily, ask questions throughout,
move comfortably through the city, and enjoy a genuinely interactive experience. For private tours,
group sizes vary based on your party.

We recommend arriving 15 minutes before your scheduled departure time for a smooth check-in
and a prompt start.

Tours depart on time out of respect for the whole group. If you’re running behind, text us at 646-299-0226 and we’ll do our best to help you catch up, though we can’t guarantee it once the tour is under way. If you miss your departure entirely your ticket isn’t lost — it can be rescheduled to another date within its one-year validity, or transferred to someone else.

Text us at 646-299-0226 or email info@highlyratedtours.com.

How much walking is involved?

Walking distances vary by tour. The Statue of Liberty Walking Tour covers approximately 1.2 miles, the St. Patrick’s Cathedral & Rockefeller Center Secrets Tour covers about 1 mile, and the Greenwich
Village Food, History & Hidden Gems Tour covers about 1 mile. All are walked at a comfortable, unhurried pace.

Our tours cover 1 to 1.2 miles over two to three hours on public sidewalks, at a relaxed pace with regular stops. Most guests with average mobility are comfortable. Guests with knee, back or other
medical concerns should consult a physician before booking.

Wheelchairs aren’t recommended on our tours, as several sites along the routes have accessibility limitations. Small umbrella strollers are fine.

Our tours operate rain or shine — dress for the weather and bring an umbrella. Refunds for weather are issued only if we cancel the tour. If we’re running and you choose not to attend, the standard 48-hour cancellation policy applies.

Tips are never required and never expected. If your guide made your day, gratuity is always appreciated but entirely at your discretion.
